| What it is. |
| |
Your MeFile is an anonymous, self-made profile that defines you as a consumer. To your own comfort level, it can contain your interests, your attitudes, your preferences - all the traits that marketers and advertisers might use to decide whether you are right for their product or service.
Think of your consumer data as a very valuable asset. As with many other valuable assets, you should keep that asset somewhere safe. Think of YouData as the bank where you can safely keep this asset and put it to work.
It is like a magnet, pulling relevant ad offers based on your personal consumer traits.
Most importantly, your MeFile is yours. |
| What it is not. |
| |
It is not WHO YOU ARE. For instance, your MeFile does not include personally identifiable information such as your name, home address, or social security number.
It is NOT for sale. |
| How much info do I need to put into my MeFile? |
| |
Only two elements are required when you create your MeFile - your birth date and gender.
The rest is completely up to you. Add data to your MeFile to fit your own comfort level. Just remember, that the more quality data you add to your MeFile, the more valuable a target you become, the better the ads and higher the offers you will receive from advertisers. |
| Does YouData own my data? |
| |
Absolutely not. Your MeFile belongs to you, and ONLY you. Just as your money does not belong to the bank where you store it, your data does not belong to YouData. |
| How do I know that YouData will not sell my MeFile data? |
| |
First, YouData's privacy policy is modeled after recommended industry standards. Your data is yours, and YouData will treat it as such.
Secondly, and perhaps more convincingly, YouData's business model - ie. the way we make money ourselves - depends squarely on how well we help you corner the market on your own consumer identity. In other words, if we, or you for that matter, were to give or sell your data to anyone, we would be creating competition for ourselves. So, if you're a skeptic of privacy policies, at least believe that we are profit driven, as you should be, and that there is nothing in it for us to sell your MeFile data. |
| What do advertisers get to see of my MeFile? |
| |
Nothing.
Advertisers have NO access to the data in your MeFile. When an advertiser wants to send a certain type of consumer a message, they independently define the traits of their target audiences without any access to your personal MeFile. If the ad is a good match to you, your MeFile will match and will harmlessly pull the related offer from the advertiser. The advertiser will have no idea which actual person received the offer and ad, only that it was a person with the traits that they defined in their campaign. |
